sadie “sarah” ibrahim is a queer Kuwaiti, Indonesian and black American transdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles / Tongva land.
With personal essay at the core of their practice, they create music, film, video and visual art that excavate the political through testimony. They utilize many forms—sound sampling, field recordings, photography, collaging, zine-making and digital, super8 and 16mm film—to examine how personal accounts always exemplify the contorted socio-political circumstances in which we live.
They design sound and score for feature-length works, short films, and installation—from experimental pieces to traditional documentary. They contributed to works screened at and/or funded by Berlin International Film Festival, Venice International Film Critics’ Week, Venice Biennale Architecture, DOKLeipzig, Hubert Bals Fund, Eurimages Award at Les Arcs Film Festival and more.
